Revolutionary dining at the Maximillien. You would be forgiven for thinking that you’d stepped in…
Make sure to book your table for this, Hello Joburgers – you certainly do not want to miss out on Dining with a Difference, thanks to the team from The Maximillien Restaurant located in the beautiful Da Vinci Hotel in Sandton.
Having just launched their new menu, there can be no better reason to take friends and family out for a yummy meal, some great music and entertainment.
The entertainment is world class, of course, as is to be expected, and performers Pilani Bubu and Michelle Oppenshaw (who joins Pilani on the first Friday of the month only) will not only keep you entertained but will make your dining experience even that more enjoyable. Pilani has other guests throughout the month, and every Friday evening promises to be a super treat.
Meet Pilani Bubu…
Easily recognisable by her trademark funky hair and colourful outfits Pilani Bubu is an absolute treat. She is a South African singer-songwriter and already has two EP’s under her belt, and more in the works, she assures us.
A self proclaimed ‘jazzy folk soul’ artist, Pilani best exemplifies the complementing of organic music and
authentic style. Her music is novel and has evolved into a unique fusion of genres, old souled, and yet so catchy with a cohesive global sound.
Having performed in New Orleans, New York, Nigeria, Nairobi, Mozambique and Ghana, and making repeat visits year on year shows that this artist is on the road to greatness.
We loved that Pilani does not stay static during her performances, rather wandering through the restaurant and engaging dinners in a fun, yet not intrusive manner. Two young kids got up to dance with her, and she took it all in her stride, having some fun with them as she sang.
Meet Michelle Oppenshaw…
Michelle is currently one of the top 10 hip hop dancing judges in the world, and owns her own dance studio called MODance.
She was trained in England and America and has performed around the world. She has even danced in the Hollywood movie Honey 3, and South African audiences will remember her from Dancing With The Stars, where she was partnered with Thando Manana in the latest season.
She has represented South Africa in many competitions, and her favourite styles are hip hop, freestyle and show dance.
Michelle’s smile is always warm and engaging and its clear that she loves what she does with all her heart, watching her perform is always a pleasure.
To enjoy a Friday like no other make sure to book your table and get the weekend off to the start it deserves!
