What’s happening at Atterbury Theatre?

Hello Joburgers, we tried to think of a theatre pun, but it would just be a play on words… tee hee! Any who, we’re huge fans of the Atterbury Theatre and their fantastic array of shows, so here’s two must-see shows – in our opinion at least.

Arno Carstens – The Chapters of Sound

Who isn’t a fan of Arno, seriously? Well, die-hard fans won’t want to miss this fantastic show. After 20 years of performing in English, he finally launched an Afrikaans album in 2016, titled ‘Die Aandblom 13’.

Arno and his band have worked hard at incorporating his mother tongue into his English set, and they’ve succeeded! This show, The Chapters of Sound, will go even further, incorporating adding additional languages to their already multi-dimensional set. Expect a few Zulu and Xhosa classics in Arno’s bilingual set, reinterpreted with his talented band’s alternative rock feel and the sensational vocals of Lebo Moalusi. Told you it was unmissable!

When: 14 April

Backstreet’s Back Tribute

All you people can’t you see, can’t you see how your love’s affecting their reality? Every time they’re down, you can make it right… And that makes you larger than life! Marno van der Merwe, Muller Brandt, Stephan van Huyssteen and Abel Knobel are about to take us back to a better time, when music was good and fun, and the Backstreet Boys were life!

Expect top hit songs like ‘Everybody’, ‘As long as you love me’, ‘Incomplete’ and many more – you’ll feel like you’re listening to the real deal!

Victoria Taylor

Victoria has always had a passion for writing – a passion that has taken her from magazines, to newspapers and back again. She admits that she never wanted to be a journalist, she wanted to publish best-sellers (who doesn’t?) but soon found it to be incredibly rewarding and actually a little fun! When she doesn’t have her nose stuck in a book or her hands on a delish plate of food, she spends her time exploring new places and snapping pictures.
