A foolproof date night at Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa

Sep 13, 2018, Author: Bianca Spinner

We firmly believe in being spoilt rotten here at HJ. We also strongly credit staycations, and so we went in search for the perfect night out on the town and found ourselves at The Fairlawns Boutique Hotel and Spa. Nestled in the suburbs of Sandton, this Jozi gem is the definition of overindulgence. Basically, there isn’t one single aspect you won’t fall in love with, from the ostentatious décor to the Balinese inspired spa and lush landscaped gardens this location ticks all the right boxes.

Plus, big news, they have recently revamped their MUSE Champagne Room, in collaboration with French Champagne House, Perrier-Jouët. Nothing says romance more than a glass of bubbles in a five-star location. The effervescent bubbles magically create a joyful feeling of celebration and special moments. There is also a quaint adjoining courtyard for the upcoming summery spring days and if we’re brutally honest Champagne is always the answer!

After your second glass, head on over to the exquisite restaurant, Amuse-Bouche, which is an experience for all five senses. It is fine dining on a superior level. Amuse-Bouche boasts a sophisticated à la carte menu for the discerning palate, paired with a Diamond Award Winning wine list. You cannot leave without trying the silky scallop starter with lumpfish caviar, edamame beans, white wine sabayon and preserved lemon.

What to Look forward to this month:

Lazy Days and Lawn Blankets 5 – star picnics: Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa is renowned for creating ‘five-star-fun’ and their picnics have become an annual tradition as Spring and Summer are officially ushered in. A decadent affair, enjoy this ultimate outdoor experience from September until March.

I’ve been twice in the past year since the revamp. The new bar is lovely but small and on busy evenings quickly gets crowded. The food and service at Amuse Bouche leaves a lot to be desired. Obviously your experience was top notch as I am assuming they knew who you were I live very close to the hotel and would love to make it my local but for now, not
