We are literally living in our Soviet Jean’s since the weather went all chilly again – and are so excited for the latest offering out of the denim empire’s stable – the Demi Denim!
It has been three years since denim giant, Soviet Denim and the Miss South Africa brands partnered, and the result is – amazing jeans, worn by amazing women!
As part of her prize package, the winner of the coveted Miss South Africa title gets the opportunity to co-design a signature range of denim jeans under the Soviet Denim label. This product is then available to Soviet Denim customers and Miss South Africa supporters within their sixteen stores nationwide.
Liesel Laurie was the first Miss South Africa to co-brand her denims in 2015, followed by Ntando Kunene in 2016, who also co-designed her collection in the year of her reign.
Soviet’s Managing Director; Caroline Hardman chats about the aesthetic of each denim: “The first denim is called Artemis. Every girl needs a classic, dark denim in her closet. We chose this style because we knew that Demi (in her intense schedule) would need a denim that she could dress up; for that important meet and greet; or down, when having Sunday lunch with family.” she adds.
“The second denim is named Persephone. This denim boasts a heavy rip & repair style which is currently, a trending topic within the fashion world. What inspired the designs? A Protea flower, the color of rose gold, the ripped denim trend and glitter have all come in to play in the design” continues Caroline.
We admit to being slightly hung up on our pair, Hello Joburgers – but literally cannot wait to get our hands on the latest offerings from the beautiful and fashion forward, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, to makes this a “must have” for every fashionista’s wardrobe?!
