As the days get shorter, and Joburgers get ready to start wrapping up the official summer season by enjoying the last of the warm days and shorter evenings, we love that the iconic News Cafe lives up to its promise and once again delivers new and innovative ways to enjoy and appreciate the truly beautiful South African sunsets with the launch of their new cocktail menu.
Once a year the cocktail menu gets a make over, to stay on trend with the ever changing trends and tastes of their patrons, and this year the new menu boasts vibrant, colourful cocktails with strong new flavours that are based on international cocktail and beverage trends.
Encompassing a variety of options from the traditional margarita, boosted with a cool Mexican twist as Solgarita is introduced, all the way to the classic martini which has been updated, and an appletini, there is always a new favourite for everyone.
Some other stand out cocktails include the island paradise inspired Tiki cocktails, a trendy fruity drink with a rum base and exotic flavour combinations from Polynesian culture, not to mention the Black Bottle Rocket – one of News Cafe’s most impressive sharing cocktails to date.
News Cafe have become known as pioneers in the food and beverage industry, and it really is no wonder that the brand just continues to pile up accolades in excellence, most recently winning the annual Leisure Options Best of Joburg Readers’ Choice Award for Best Cocktail Bar (which they have won for the last 18 years consecutively by the way), Best of Pretoria for Best Cocktail Bar 2014 and 2015, as well as the prestigious International Restaurant and Bar Design Award in the Africa and Middle East Category 2016.
This combination fruity party punch, topped with a bottle of Luc Belaire Rose. This is set to become a legendary favourite for years to come and definitely boasts glamour and elegance.“As a brand who’s key focus is cocktails, we have always managed to stay ahead of the trends and we continue to be set the benchmark for innovation across Africa “, says Varina Singh Brand manager of News Café.
