Dining Out, Our Top 5

Our top 5 bang-for-your-buck food specials to make it through January

January 9, 2019, Author: Candice May

Do you wish that life would hand you lemons right now just because they’re edible? Don’t worry, Hello Joburgers – us too. Broke January is a real thing! Fortunately, if there’s anything Joburgers like better than eating and drinking, it’s doing so on a dime (although most won’t admit to it) – just look at our deep affection for half-price pizza, hole-in-the-wall sports bars and boozy bottomless brunch. We’ve rounded up our top 5 food specials that Jozi has to offer, from top-rate restaurants offering food-and-drink deals, to discounts for the after-work crowd and beyond.

Piza e Vino

At this romantic Italian eatery, two can get buzzed and fed for just R189 every Monday and Tuesday. Settle down at a rustic wooden table and dig into any two medium pizzas (add an extra R25 for a Frutti di Mare) or two pastas (a Spaghetti di Mare will cost you R25 more) with two drinks of your choice – you can pick from regular soft drinks, white or red house wine, or a 500ml Castle Light Draught. This special is not available on public holidays.

Doppio Zero

Although we’re happy to go in on pizza delivery just to save some dough, sometime s we crave a touch of ambiance that only an eat-in restaurant can provide. On Mondays at Doppio Zero in Sandton City, Clearwater Mall and Cradlestone Mall kids can build their own pizza for free when dining with two adults who order two mains. The free pizza is a kids’ margarita with a choice of three toppings.
