Try our fabulous top five picks for business lunches in the city of gold that are sure to close the deal, and hey we don’t even charge commission.

Perron – Bryanston

If you’re hankering for somewhere cool and casual this is the eatery to be, and all your cavernous cravings will be satisfied.

What to order: so firstly, it is vital you go on a Tuesday because of Taco Tuesday, arriba arriba. You’ll get a generous serving of five to six tacos that are unique to this special. And they’re ridiculously affordable at around 60 bucks. So, for young business entrepreneurs celebrating a success or a nippy lunch meeting, this location is perfect. Also, you don’t have to pay for parking and there are always available bays. It’s a quick entrance and an even quicker exit. Winning.

La Boqueria – Parktown North

It’s a love letter on a plate so if you really want to schmooze your lunch date then this is the place to be.

What to order: because this location is one of the trendiest in town and they’re fairly new, we think your guest will be impressed. Set the scene with a glass of Groot Constantia Sauvignon Blanc and order a few tapas. Try the artichoke and fennel croquettes, (request them without the garlic aioli of course), the beef and pork meatballs, the pan-fried calamari and squid heads and the tuna ceviche with a chilli and pomegranate ponzu and candied ginger and basil oil.

Turn n Tender – Illovo

Meat is meat and a man must eat, right? So, if your business lunch includes a dapper carnivorous fellow, we highly recommend this spot.

What to order: located in Thrupps Illovo Centre you’ll be surrounded by Jozi’s finest. There really isn’t anything not to order off this classic steakhouse menu. From juicy steaks and sauces to succulent ribs, burgers, salads and the best creamy spinach and butternut in town, you’ll appreciate it all. Ribs at lunch over business though? We vote no, so rather save those for a date night. Also, did we mention you can lunch like a boss from Monday to Friday? From 11:30 – 16:00 you can order a 200-gram sirloin smothered in red pepper salsa sauce and a side of your choice for only R85. It’s a no-brainer.
