Hello Joburgers, everyone’s looking to drink seasonally right now. While you can sip a margarita or a martini at any time, there’s something particularly pleasurable about a cocktail designed for the colder months. These our top 5 winter cocktails made with deep flavours to get you through the last stretch of winter.
30ml reposado (slightly aged) tequila
30ml mezcal (like Del Maguey Vida)
30ml lime juice
20ml simple syrup
1 egg white
Shake ingredients without ice, then shake again with ice. Strain into a coupe glass and serve up with a salted rim.

Cognac French 75
150ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
Splash of sparkling wine
Shake the cognac, lemon juice, and simple syrup with ice. Strain into a Champagne flute, and top with prosecco or another dry sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon twist.
120ml sparkling wine
1 sugar cube
Soak the sugar cube in Angostura bitters and drop into a champagne flute. Fill with sparkling wine (a dry prosecco will also do). Garnish with a lemon twist.

60ml aged rum (like Diplomatico Venezuelan)
30ml fresh lime juice
20ml simple syrup
