Hello Joburgers, LEGO is more than just a kids’ toy – the one you played with yourself as a child and now step on as you walk through your house as a parent. Nowadays, LEGO is showing up in all sorts of unexpected places, such as in street art and museums.
If you’re a LEGO fanatic, you’ll be excited to know that The Great Yellow Brick Co is bringing South Africa’s first LEGO Certified Store to Sandton City on 28 July 2018 following a multi-million-rand investment and exclusive deal with The LEGO Group! The store has been designed by The LEGO Group and will adhere to store fit-out and experience guidelines stipulated by the Group to maintain its focus on playfulness and creative experiences.
The 179m2 Sandton City store is the first LEGO Certified Store on the African continent too, with similar stores found in 20 other countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East and North America. The store will be ideally located on a stretch of the mall that’s now home to several experiential stores, near the Food Court and the revamped cinema complex. The location will make for easy access for LEGO fans of all ages to drop in and browse, explore and play.
The Great Yellow Brick Co will open additional certified stores throughout South Africa in the future – keep your eyes and ears open for more updates!
