Vrede en Lust Lady J Syrah 2012 is one of our favourite winter wines. The shiraz grapes from Simonsberg-Paarl showcase violet and plums, while the Elgin grapes bring in a darker character. Fresh and intricate with smooth tannins on the palate, you’ll pick up spice, leather, some crushed herbs and a savoury finish that confirm the promise of this elegant wine. It isn’t for the faint heart or palate, but it’ll warm you up in a hurry!

It goes well with grilled meats, venison, boar, leather club chairs and snow banks or simply and a rugby game on TV.
