Lima Tapas Bar at Montecasino, Fourways

What to order: It’s not optional Hello Joburgers – you have to try their sushi burgers, and you can thank us later. Go for the crab or the tuna option. Then the list is endless, from tacos and empanadas to ceviche, the menu is extensive and exciting. The drinks? Leave room for their twists on classics like the Leblon Coconut Caipirinha or the Spicy Jalapeño Margarita.

Escondido at Post Office Centre, Illovo

What to order: The Seafood Paella for two – it will blow your socks off! The bucket of prawns

with white wine sauce is also to-die-for. You can’t go wrong ordering their famous deconstructed pulled pork burrito.

Why eat here? It’s the trendiest spot in town. Escondido is consistent, dependable and serves excellent food, offering creative and surprising interpretations of gastronomy.

Urbanologi on Fox Street, Ferreirasdorp

What to order: Duck Pancakes (only if they’re available to order). Another dosh that will always be one of our favorites – the Banana-barley malt ice cream. You also can’t leave without trying their steamed buns… brioche with truffle crème and pea salt.

Why go? It’s just launched in Jozi and is styled to perfection. You’ll wine and dine all night. Yes, it’s safe and yes, it’s worth the trip. You’re basically guaranteed deliciously elegant Asian Fusion cuisine.

EB Social Kitchen & Bar in Hyde Park Shopping Centre

What to order: Chef Russell Armstrong allows you to graze through his latest interpretation of social tapas, but be warned this food packs a punch. It’ll leave you salivating, maybe even drooling. Order the poached squid, chorizo and lemon aranccini – it’s yummy, delicate and oh-so crisp. Go all out and order the warm barbequed eel, crab, sushi rice, wasabi tobikko and Japanese dressing. Leave space for dessert because the Almond panna cotta is happiness personified.

Why go? This high-end tapas style restaurant will leave you bright-eyed and eager for more.
